JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual counselling to students and staff
- Conduct theme based group counselling with students from various programmes
- To support Orientation talks and other activities on campus
- Plan, organize and lead structured programme/prevention initiatives & events related to Mental Health & Counselling for student population at large especially working closely with student bodies
- Ensure all forms and processes in regards to counselling is up-to date and relevant at all times
- Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary
- Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
- Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies
- Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Registered and Licensed Counsellor by Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia
- Masters in Counselling
- Sound knowledge and skills in usage of at least 2 different counselling theory
- Good written and spoken communication skills, especially in informing and advising others clearly
- Good initiative and hardworking
- People centered and friendly demeanor
- Team player
- Flexible and wanting to learn
